I’m older than a lot of you, I think, but this whole costuming thing is getting out of hand. It used to be, maybe some folks, at Mann’s Chinese Theater or something, would dress up as Star Wars characters when a new movie would come out (back in the nineteen hundred eighties). Well, it seems since the Lord of the Rings movies I notice people will show up anywhere in costume - at the slightest provocation!
And so it is with Team Fortress 2. I’m seeing a ton of pics posted on Flickr, or linked to on the steamforums. It’s crazy! There’s some talent that goes into making this stuff, and they’re braver than I am. The Heavy Weapons Dude below even appears to have shaved his head for the role:

Is that a Jedi in the background?
I am forever behind the times, so I’ve just found out that they call this craziness cosplay. Short for Costume Play. And blog is short for Web Log. Are we all up to speed now? Good. I can now go to bed, I have to get up early tomorrow so I can feed the pigeons in the park. Then it’s a nap and off to yell at the neighbor kids for being noisy.

Is our chess match still a go while feeding the pigeons?

I have a couple friends that are into all those cons and stuff, they don’t cosplay, they just subject their newborn daughter to it.
